Upcycling is the missing piece between reduction and recycling!

Sustainable transformation is one of the most important goals of our time. To accomplish this mammoth task, we need different building blocks that serve all levels. Consumers and companies reduce plastic waste and energy demand and switch to green energies. True recycling rates are on the rise. Social plastic use has also visibly increased in recent years.
But what about materials that can't be recycled. Composite materials or compound materials?
Here, upcycling is the sustainable and green solution. Because upcycling keeps these materials in use and in circulation longer. A circular economy is a steady reuse of materials. They end up in the trash only after being reused several times, greatly reducing CO2 emissions compared to materials that are incinerated or disposed of after a single use.
The goal of upcycling is to greatly increase this factor X of recycling. And this is what we at B2L work for every day.

But why upcycling?

Now you're probably asking yourself, why do these composite materials need to be made at all? These materials perform extremely well, whether in aviation, transportation, engineering, or construction. These materials can withstand extreme heat, are very light yet strong, have great load bearing capacity etc. Our society, in part, would not be as sophisticated, would not be as fast, and would not reach such heights without these materials. But even the packaging of cheese partly consists of different inseparable plastic layers.
Research is in full swing here and it is only a matter of time before lucrative recycling systems for certain materials are up and running.
So for many materials, upcycling is the building block for greater sustainability.
And for all its science and technology, upcycling is design at its best. Because upcycling not only combines great looks, but also emotionally charged materials to create unique products. This is real upcycling passion from B2L and BAG TO LIFE!
