These materials can withstand extreme heat, are very light yet strong, have great load bearing capacity etc. Our society, in part, would not be as sophisticated, would not be as fast, and would not reach such heights without these materials. But even the packaging of cheese partly consists of different inseparable plastic layers.Research is in full swing here and it is only a matter of time before lucrative recycling systems for certain materials are up and running.
So for many materials, upcycling is the building block for greater sustainability.
